Stunt planes, vertigo and sexual self-discovery. Not the most likely themes you'd find together in a coming-of-age film, but they work very well in this lyrical Lithuanian film. . Austé, an aspiring fashion designer, threads her way into Sangaile’s heart by making clothes for and taking photos of her. Then Sangaile opens up about self-harm and her love/fear of stunt-plane flying. All this is set before the stunning backdrop of some terrific lakeside cinematography - the perfect postcard for the Lithuania tourist board. Some of the character development is a bit flawed and it gets rather slow in the second half, but this is all forgiven as overall this is an altogether sumptuous experience.
