I believe that the writer has the best intentions in crafting the story but sadly,  there was loss of focus along the way,  maybe in part  due to the shallow acting performance of some actors.  For one,  there wasn't much background on the psychopath and why did he knew about the nuclear weapon which was supposed to be a top secret project.   There are some fast-paced scenes though which in a way makes up for some of the loopholes.
