I don't mean to go all squeeing fangirl on you guys but I love this film so much it hurts!!! - and yes, those were three exclamation marks because this film deserves it. It's such a great, tragic, contemplative story that's not so much about the action as the trance-inducing atmosphere. Takeshi Kitano can make high art out of the yakuza genre and this just might be the best thing he's ever done.
