A fun, little-known rough diamond, The Car falls halfway between the legendary Jaws and naff TV movie Killdozer. A small dustbowl town straight out of the Wild West is under attack from a possessed car. Some beautiful cinematography, a nail-bitingly tense scene at a race track, an unexpectedly tragic kill and an OTT special-effects laden finale make this 70's cult curio worthy of the remake treatment, something it has only avoided through successfully existing on the fringes of B-Movieland. Who knows how much longer this will last...
