Loved it, seriously brilliant. Director Ira Sachs (of the equally great Love is Strange) directs this story of dysfunctional relationships, sex, friendship and love. Though it’s pace may seem slow at first, it is always engaging and completely rewarding by the end. The performances reach an emotional honesty rare to find on screen these days and Thure Lindhart as our imperfect protagonist Erik is nothing short of incredible. Avoiding all the clichés usually seen with gay-themed films and troubled relationships in general, Keep The Lights On comes highly recommended.
