This film has the trappings of a mystery thriller done in a subtle way and devoid of some sort of soundtrack that sets the mood of the more usual mystery flicks.  For I'd like to believe that it's more an exploration of a lesbian romance and the mystery element was just added to give it a unique flavor. Somehow, it succeeded in holding the viewers' attention,  not only for its storytelling but also because of the outstanding acting portrayals of the lead actors who play the roles of Sophie and Ai-ling.  Each of them took to the character naturally and Huan Ru Ke was splendid as the gentle, sensitive and shy  Ai-ling.  Ting Ting Hu as the pushy journalist did fairly well for her mysterious role.  I'd recommend this for everyone especially those who favor lgbt films with a twist.
