Battle Royale is justifiably now considered to be something of a classic. Brutal, dark and very shocking in places it is one of the best films to have come out of Japan. It also signified the modern emergence and popularity of Asian cinema in the West with this film drawing many people into watching Asian films. Well worth checking out (if you can stand the sight of lots of blood of course!).
