A bittersweet sendoff for Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli then. The Wind Rises is a powerful film and one unafraid to go to the darker recesses of the story it's based on.
The story in question is that of Jiro Horikoshi, the Japanese engineer who
advanced his country's aviation industry and fathered the 'zero' of WWII fame,
I found it a little unfocused at times but the ending packs one hell of a punch. Also it made me want to become an engineer, which is cool.
