A coquettish young woman and her plain-Jane but beyond her years teenage cousin run rings around a lovelorn poet and a red blooded male in another excellent Rohmer film about the meaning of words and ulterior motives, in seemingly the most innocent of circumstances. As with Conte D'ete, the film belongs to Amanda Langlet, whose sober, sensible outlook on life defies her innocence.
