Gothic genius, with a palette so rich and inviting and, for a few hot flashes, disgusting - you can't help but fall into Dario Argento's rabbit hole of the macabre. From the opening - lush red velvet curtains part to reveal a terrified medium who forsees her own murder, to the delirious closing reel involving an elevator and a gaudy necklace, the twisted mind of the creator is a treat to watch. The audience is fed through the wringer, and we come out wanting to do it all over again.
