This film that's written and directed by Nikita Mikhalkov is visually appealing and with an engaging story. While his most popular movie of late would be Burnt by the Sun, he has directed countless memorable films through the years, from the '60s and beyond. The cinematography here is commendable and aside from the action scenes what is also noticeable in this film would be the bonds of friendship among the lead cast. Aside from the action drama genre, it also throws in comedic sequences. There are shots that seem quite random and viewers may end up quite confused but I guess everything all adds up to the film's unique flavor.  Worth checking out!
