An engaging dramedy that made me feel so lucky I didn't had to experience the life that Tarek went through! Life in a Harir refugee camp is definitely not a happy one, and for Tarek and his mother Ghayda it's doubly hard because the father is still unlocated.  Tarek's character is an interesting study, dyslexic but a math whiz. He sets out to look for his father and ends up in the company of freedom fighters. Director Jacir perfectly blends impressive cinematography and realistic actor portrayals to come up with a truly affecting film that will tug at the viewers' heartstrings. M. Asfa as Tarek is undoubtedly the film's strength but am also impressed with the mother's acting ability, portrayed by Ruba Blal. The director's poetic side also comes at play, as seen in the scene where the freedom fighters unwind and sing together in chorus through  a poetic song. Charming but also heartbreaking,  do try to check this out.
