Sigourney Weaver's best performance, hands down. She owns this film, and Holly Hunter provides sterling support in a story about two women ensnaring a particularly gruesome serial killer. Thrillers don't wade into horror nearly as much as they should (look to The Silence of the Lambs for a great example) but Copycat is one of those rare films that, at times, is really, really unsettling. That GIF! It's a pity it didn't get more praise at the time of its release, it's much more than a straightforward genre film, with nuances aplenty coming from Weaver. Extra kudos for the set designer, too. Helen Hudson's apartment and the toilet cubicles are two backdrops I won't forget in a hurry.
