Hats off to Donnie Yen for his excellent portrayal of Ip Man! I've been a fan of muay thai and aikido but wing chun is extraordinary, thanks to Ip Man who exhibited it in the most amazing ways. The minimal movements but very strong and steadfast hands are the highlights of this martial arts, plus the agility and focus is so superb. Commendable support was also given by Sammo Hung as Hung Quan. The fight scene of Yen and Hung while atop an unbalanced table was superb and hair-raising action. BUT! The greatest fight was at the latter part, that between Yen and boxer Twister. It's a bloodbath that will leave Yen bruised and beaten badly but the intricate and bone-breaking hand movements coupled with the complex footwork that drags the boxer to the floor ensured Yen's triumph. The boxer also doesn't deserve to win most especially because he was a cheater! Well-choreographed and realistic fight scenes plus impressive performances makes this film deserving of a perfect 5 star rating! Don't fail to watch this guys!
