Many of France's great stars combine in François Ozon's cinematic adaptation of the 1970s play of the same name.

Catherine Deneuve is utterly fabulous as Suzanne Pujol, wife of the town's big-shot (Fabrice Luchini), who runs the factories inherited from her father. Yet Suzanne is relegated to pottering around the house. But the table turn, and when they do, Monsieur Pujol doesn't like it one bit...

Set in the late 1970s -a time when women didn't have the rights they do today- Trophy Wife has a central character who's modern for the times.

All of the central characters are brilliantly caricatural, which makes for a highly entertaining film.

A light-hearted must-see from a great director.
