It was nice to see Steven Seagal being handed more than just 90 minutes of chop-socky, and he handles it surprisingly well. The storyline between him and Helgenberger is given far more screentime than is usual for this genre and it works. The flipside, however, is that Kris Kristofferson, a frankly bizarre choice of villain, gets precious little time to chew the scenery, of which he does a very good job. Much like 'On Deadly Ground', Seagal gets to preach about the environment again here, but it comes across as much less preachy. One of his better films.
