The film is about a boy coping with grief for the loss of his father, fear of dying, and having a new baby brother. He misses his father. And because his mother is focused on taking care of the newborn he feels left out. Pom’s fear of dying was reinforced by his granny’s reason for being toothless. So when he lost his tooth he thought he was dying. Raising children is a difficult job, and so is growing up.
