A quiet, devastating powerhouse of a movie. Even if you have an inkling of what this film is about from word-of-mouth or the synopsis, nothing can prepare you for the pitch-black hole you are about to dive into. Emilie Dequenne hasn't been this good since Rosetta, while A Prophet's Tahar Rahim and veteran Nils Arestrup turn in characters far removed from those they are usually cast as. An unassuming masterpiece with a horrifying core that should be seen by all cinephiles.
