A brilliant turn by Marion Cotillard as a woman clinging to her job by the fingernails is given the full attention - she never leaves the screen - of the remarkable Dardenne brothers in what is one of their best films to date. From the get-go te audience is hauled into the utterly convincing plight of soon-to-be-sacked Sandra, who must curry favour with her fellow employees in order to keep her job - although they would lose their bonus if they side with her. The ending is a real sucker-punch.
