A person who wanted to change for the better yet society won't give her a chance. Such is the tragic fate of Ligaya (Roces) a small-town whore who dreamt of a better life beyond giving men pleasure in exchange for meager cash.  A glimmer of hope came when a farmer (Arcilla) offered her marriage but through some unfortunate twists it was called off. Roces delivers a stellar performance in this film, her rawness and natural flair for acting seeping through the screen. Arcilla was also formidable and he has since become one of local cinema's most sought-after actors of today.
