Thoroughly enjoyed this. The tension is ratcheted up very effectively, and Anya Taylor-Joy's splendid performance keeps you gripped throughout. I honestly cannot understand why so many people disliked this film, mainly complaining that it wasn't scary or gory enough. Well it's hardly 'Don't Look Now', but I like my horror films to have more than an iota of plot development, genuine tension and character development, and this one has all those things in spades. As for the ending, I absolutely loved it - it fully embraces the fantastic. Extra kudos to the soundtrack, which does a lot of the heavy-lifting., and the witch make-up effects which, although brief (as they should be) are extremely chilling.
