The Story of Yonosuke Synopsis

It's 1987 and eighteen-year-old Yonosuke has moved to Tokyo where he finds himself out of step with his more worldly counterparts at university. Despite showing little talent, Yonosuke joins the samba club and takes to dancing with wild abandon. Soon after, he meets Shoko, an eccentric rich girl who shows interest in Yonosuke. But Yonosuke is infatuated with a mysterious older woman named Chiharu.

Juxtaposed against Yonosuke's life are his friends sixteen years later. However, missing is the affable Yonosuke, who is said to have become a cameraman after college. Little do they know of the selfless tragedy that has befallen their “ordinary” friend.

Poignant and  heartwarming! This  endearing story of a boy named Yonosuke  delves on human kindness and how  people can leave lasting imprints of their character and personality to others.  Genuinely admired the acting performance of Kengo Kora who played the role of Yonosuke, he effectively showed an aura of candidness and natural flair of inflicting joy and optimism among people.  Although quite a lengthy film, viewers will nevertheless find the film not only hilarious but also a rediscovery of the innate virtues of people,  realities that matter the most. Highly recommended!
