What could have been an LGBT-themed horror classic is, well, a ropey-ass horror classic nonetheless. Featuring outrageously awful special effects that win you over with their sheer obviousness, a smoke machine on overdrive and a character called Babs who bathes in a bath full of snakes, this has all the right ingredients for an 80's cheeseball horror. The attempts at explaining the mythology behind lamp-rubbing is a nice if somewhat pointless touch, and I always give an extra star to a film that features a character wearing dungarees.
