A very lo-fi and rough around the edges tale of a surfer kid with a crush on one of his pals, that develops into something more. I saw this many years ago when gay films were few and far between. Nowadays they're all over the place - choice is a great thing - however not many films have a timeless quality, and upon rewatching this I felt it came very close to that. An arthouse, punky little film from a British director coming out of Australia made on a shoestring, there's much to love about 'Tan Lines'.
