Ceylan won the Palme D’or at Cannes for Winter Sleep and this feature was the co-winner at Cannes for the Grand Prix. Sight & Sound had listed the film at number 8 for the best films of 2012 and over the years, Ceylan has established himself as one of the directors to watch when it comes to world cinema. \r\n\r\nOnce Upon a Time in Anatolia is based on a true experience about a team that goes into the Turkish countryside to find the body of someone who has been murdered. In classic Ceylan style, the movie is long, slow moving but worth every minute of it for the beautiful cinematography and an insightful commentary on modern Turkey.\r\n
