A very powerful short film about modernization and its repercussions; sacrifices and destruction that must be done to give way for a new way of life. Well depicted using art and narration, the theatrical sounds were very appealing, it makes my heart go fast with anticipation every time the story gets so intense. Nail House is a captivating short film that demonstrates the struggle between modernization and preservation in China. Modernization gives new life, new hope, fresh opportunities but at the same time, it is a destruction; it effaces the history that was written on ancient buildings, it turns an edifice into a ruin. With industrialization, modernization and development, the old ways should suffer and crumble into obliviousness.
