Director Preuss' feature debut is candidly presented and reminds me of summers past playing with my cousins in the beach, exploring new discoveries like crabs and starfish hidden amongst the rocks and sand. It personifies young people curious of the world around them and the eagerness to experiment with new territories, much like what Maden ventured into; exchanging letters with a prisoner, although aware that it could mean negative judgement from the family and from others. Maden is truly unique and Lou Aziosmanoff somehow portrayed the role with deftness. She manifested anxiousness and curiosity,  a personality that seems so guarded. Cinematography was commendable, do check this out!
