Okay, it's yet another "I don't wanna be a grown-up" movie, okay, it's directed by that guy from "how i met your mother", and okay, the "US indie" label might not be relevant anymore... But don't think about any of it when watching LIBERAL ARTS. It is actually a sweet film with a perfect cast. After Happythankyoumoreplease (which was good, but a bit messy), Radnor gets more control on directing and achieves to reach the sensitive balance between comedy, drama and romance. LIBERAL ARTS explores the post- and post-post-college time of one's life and the bittersweet memories that it brings. The contrast between Jesse's nostalgia and Zibby's hunger for life and possibilities is beautifully and discreetly written by Josh Radnor.
