True, judging from the plot, Kiss Me seems to be a little too simple and déjà-vu. But when the performances are remarkable and the production value is up to Scandinavian standards as we know them, it makes Kiss Me a love story than anybody can relate to. There is an natural and sweet chemistry between the two lead, Rith Vega Fernandez and Liv Mjönes. It's also well written (by director Alexandra-Therese Keining), therefore nothing feels forced.

What would be a pretty basic story (that has been told a million times before) if it were about a forbidden romance between a man and a woman is given a really refreshing spin and terrific performances by Ruth Vega Fernandez and Liv Mjönes, who are both smoking hot in their scenes together. I would challenge anyone, gay or straight, to not fall in love with these two. On top of this, there is a lovely happy ending - a rarity in stories about lesbian relationships. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but this is a very important film when it comes to LGBT stories moving forward in modern times.

  • A very well made film. Not often that a story like this gets big production values. How very Scandi and ahead of the curve. Feel-good and recommended.
