The film is very appealing to me because of its powerful message, that happiness is real only when shared. We all have a Christopher in us, wanting to leave and be alone, deprive ourselves of human contact, choose a life that is free from responsibility; human connection is a responsibility. But in the end we have to realize that that sole responsibility is what makes us happy and we grow through that connection. Without someone we will perish and slowly die away, without a dent in this life.
