I had a few friends recommend this documentary, but as someone who doesn’t watch zombie films religiously (I’ve seen the classics) I was somewhat hesitant to give it a go, but after finally giving in, I was pleasantly surprised. Doc of the Dead looks at the zombie culture phenomenon from all sides, giving an extensive history of both the birth of the genre itself and the origins as a cultural phenomenon, featuring a multitude of interviews with those who have had an impact on its proliferation. Highly engaging even for those who aren’t ingrained in the culture.
