There are scenes in this movie that are meant to be comedic, but I'm not laughing at all. The comedy style of Kobayashi really seems off and rightly so, he has been touted to direct nonsense comedy movies. A former band member and theater actor, Kobayashi consciously puts in a Monty Python touch in his films,  the kind where viewers end up having mixed feelings of amusement but also irritation and confusion. Nonetheless, Narumi as Ayami is a refreshing face to see onscreen, innocent and youthful. If you're fond of Japanese comedies, then this is worth the watch!
