This was a real grim film it was. But a good one. Honest. The beardy geezer looks a little frightening but watch the film and you'll see that he's not such a bad chap. Just a bit mixed up in the head. That's all. I was right royally engaged by this story, always kept on edge wondering who was gonna get it. It was dark but it was funny too. Don't think you know how it's gonna' end as well. This was a truly fresh take on the mad bloke with a vengeance film.

  • Jeremy Saulnier's critically lauded revenge thriller pushes the boundaries of the genre with a striking Macon Blair as the lead. With stunning visuals and a breathtaking conclusion 'Blue Ruin' is an outstanding feat of modern film making.

  • One of my favourite films this year which was really unexpected. This neo-noir had me hooked right from the incredible opening sequence.
