Binhi: The Seed Synopsis

Daniel and Cynthia, a young couple with a child on the way, experience some hard times in Manila. They head back to Baguio, where Daniel is originally from, to start over again. Through the kindness of Alex, Daniel's well-to-do childhood friend, they get to stay in a large house, rent-free; and he gets a job offer as well. Everything seems to be falling into place for them - or so they think - until strange things start to happen in their house.

Got quite scared in the scenes where the little girl suddenly pops up, however it's really a style that's too often used in ghost films of late: hazy apparitions of running kids,  close up shots of a horrific face and etc. However, despite of  lapses in the story/screenplay it was the acting portrayals of Cabral and Bascon that served as the saving grace. Natural yet intense, these are actors that are making a name for themselves in the local movie circuit and very promising ones indeed.  Worth checking out!
