I actually had a bloody good time watching this - why the hate? Admittedly I haven't seen the original and it was a bit of a boozy trip to the cinema, but still, one can fairly judge a film on its own merits through beer goggles, no? The supporting cast were what made this one for me. Cameron Diaz was OTT and hammy to the hilt while Rose Byrne and Stephanie Kurtzuba were hilarious and bursting with charisma. In fact I didn't care much for the kids, the adults were having such a good time being kids around them that I got sucked in. One of those rare non-scifi/adventure films that is fun for both adults and pre-teens.
