A wonderful chemistry between leads Dreya Weber and Paris Pickard propels this story forward, with Weber excelling as the hard-as-nails soldier with a secret, just wanting to get back into the easier life she had before going into the forces. In many ways this film was before its time, as 'don't ask don't tell' was dropped by the US military a couple of years after the film was made, and its female-driven story and central performance (in what would typically have been a man's role in any script outside of GI Jane) preceded their being commonplace in mainstream media right now. History will remember 'A Marine Story' fondly. Great film with guts and soul.
