I watched the director's cut of this and thought it was brilliant, what a shame that the cut version is the one that saw the light of day upon initial release. Although I have not seen that version, judging by the critical drubbing it got, the director's cut is far superior. This film was ahead of its time in its portrayal of queer identities and bisexuality, at least from a 90's big-budget studio viewpoint. Phillippe is deliciously sexy while Hayek is completely off the wall and Campbell barely noticeable in a fleeting role. There's also a crazy number of familiar faces, from Mark Ruffalo to 'Welcome to the Dollhouse's Heather Matarazzo and the rapping granny from 'The Wedding Singer'. Three thumbs up.
