"Life teaches you how to live it, if you live enough of it" - these words from Tony Bennett, Amy Winehouse's idol who she got the chance to record with shortly before she died, are said towards this heart-wrenching documentary's final reel, but you will have heard something like it since the beginning, because the writing is on the wall, as it always was, we're only just realizing it too late. An excellent documentary, which isn't the harrowing tear-jerker you might have expected it to be, only because her descent was so hopelessly long, steady and tragic.
