Claymation is not often a tool used to depict real-life events, and certainly even more rarely used to tell a story as harrowing as this one. It perhaps shouldn't work, but it does, perhaps a little too well. The willing suspension of disbelief in accepting the claymation as a reflection of reality left me more open to absorb the narrative and imagine the reality in a way I've not experienced with traditional filmmaking. An incredible and heartfelt triumph.
