Set in post-tsunami Thailand, Adita Assarat's absorbing yet simple tale of Ananda, an actor trying to reconcile his former life in the US with his life in Thailand where he grew up. Although films and filmmaking are at the forefront, Hi-So is a story about relationships and life, more specifically about how life keeps getting in the way. The two women in Ananda's life are performed by their respective actresses beautifully, but it's Sajee Apiwong who is the standout as Ananda's new girlfriend. Despite being slow at times, Hi-So is engaging throughout and a beautiful character study.
