Probably the best serial killer movie ever made. Even though we do not see who the culprit is (or do we?) the focus is always on the detectives and their different methods of investigation, their relationships with each other and their suspects and other halves. The camerawork is very elegant and the score unsettling. The ending (like the opening scene) is particularly unsettling in its simplicity. This is a film about life, death and how we see ourselves.
