I just couldn’t get into this and cannot understand the hype around it. It was mildly entertaining but not worthy of the masterpiece status it has been given. Perhaps, because I watched it just yesterday for the first time, I missed out on the zeitgeist, but I wasn’t surprised by the ending, which I saw coming a mile off, and the interminable slow zooms verge on grad school riffing on directors of the 70’s. The performances are all what you’d expect from such a calibre, and I love a Paul Bartel cameo as much as the next.
