This is an insightful documentary into the life of artist Mu Xin who risked his life writing and painting while in solitary confinement in China. Until this documentary he had avoided speaking of the horrors he has seen, so directors Timothy Sternberg and Francisco Bello artfully manage to capture the raw emotions of what remains, an interesting and yet difficult period of Chinese history. Tragically Mu Xin died before the film was released. A fascinating and insightful view into one of China's most interesting artists.
