A hokey plot is propelled way above the level of silly entertainment it should be by seasoned thesp par excellence Anthony Hopkins, in the excellent company of Abbie Cornish. You wonder if there were some tweaks to the script mid-filming as you wonder how these actors could have committed to such a wacky story, but anyway, despite the flaws in the narrative, which is all over the place and not ultimately very believable, this is still extremely solid entertainment which is shot with economy and effectively wound up suspense. When it all comes to a head, you can't take your eyes away.
