Yes of course it's bloody awful, but with James Cameron at the helm, you at least have thngs moving at a brisk enough pace that you overlook the shoddiness that cloaks the whole thing. Some truly awful direlogue and cheesy soft focus stuff keeps you amused between the gory attacks, even though it does seem to be mostly the black cast members who get the sharp end of the tooth - no fair!
