You'll never look at Christmas baubles the same way again... Not Park Chan-Wook's tightest film, but his most gorgeous, emotive and all together glorious films. The plotline will have you in cahoots, and although you may see the first twist coming, it doesn't end there, not by far. As with his other films, there are some spectacularly unpleasant, seat-squirming moments, but also a heck load of beautifully framed lovemaking. The whole thing drips with such splendour and gorgeous production design, it risks almost looking too polished for its own good, but Chan-Wook, reliable as ever, throws in a giant octopus and a bucket of blood to rein things in. Extraordinary.
