Intense and deceptively engrossing film! This is one of the early works of famed director Kiyoshi Kurosawa who's very popular especially for his horror films like Cure, Seance and Pulse. The very striking theme in the movie is revenge but as it is with most stories, revenge almost always has its dire consequences.  But while this is basically a crime-thriller film it' s a pleasant surprise to witness black humor being interjected in scenes like the golf course abduction scene,  this is  undeniably the unconventional style of Kurosawa. Worth checking out and more so,  don't miss this if you're a die-hard Kurosawa fan!
