It's a pity that this is the one John Carpenter film that he regrets making/is his least favourite. I rather like it. It has considerable camp appeal (Kirstie Alley!? Linda Kozlowski?? Luke Skywalker!?!?) and the kids are delightfully devilish, even better here than in the original. The score as always in a JC film, is brilliantly foreboding. The all-hell-breaks-loose ending is obviously JC just giving up and blowing up the set for the hell of it. Good fun.
