A beautiful study of one man's decision to end his life. We are introduced to the friends and familiar faces from his past in the 48 hours leading up to the big moment, and the interactions are at times wistful, brutally honest, romantic and funny, making Alain an even more hopeless soul, as we see that those around him have moved ahead, taking life on the chin, but he cannot separate himself from his past. I wasn't depressed by this film, but found it deeply moving in a strangely beautiful way.
