A wonderful, magical film for kids and grown-ups. Sure, on screen, Johnny Depp is entitled to a lot of the credit, but not all of it. Special mention must go to Dianne Weist who is excellent in this, as are the hilarious O-Lan Jones and Kathy Baker as the neighbours. The production design is aces. Pure magic.
